Apple’s new iPad is exciting. It matches my childhood dream: a magically connected wireless device bridging computer and phone.
We talked about it today in one of my journalism classes. We were discussing media channels, and for the first time in almost 50 years, they’re changing. Newspapers, magazines and radio are being phased out. In their place stands the iPad.
Being a student during the recession is convenient, because we’re supposed to be poor. Still, it’s very easy to get upset about the state of American business. Young students are particularly insecure because…well…we’re young. But the iPad, to me, represents a major shift, hopeful and inspiring. There are ways to thrive, they’re just new. New stuff isn’t new. Imagine how the training telegraph technician felt about the telephone!

I’ve tried to learn to let go of attachments. Opening up the space I’m trying to fill so something can slip in unexpectedly. Let’s all take a breath, and make way for the opportunities in tomorrow’s mailbox.

I was going to leave a comment, and then I saw the “comments make me smile” subtext.
Haha.
I just mentioned you in my blog. [in case you were wondering]
