Becoming a superhuman, month by month.

October 24, 2009

I feel pretty good physically. Chanterelle, Max and I all went to the pool today. I bought a sleek looking speedo and wanted so so badly to try it out. It was great! I forget how much I love swimming when I don’t do it for so long, but its so nice not to have to answer to gravity for just a little while. Plus I like wearing a speedo.

I decided a few days ago that rather than saying I was going to eat the way I am forever, I will at least commit to a month. That way I will give my cravings some time to go away before telling them to shove off forever. My suspicion is that after the month is over I’ll want to continue, as it makes me feel powerful and streamlined. But to avoid my usual flaky habits, I’ll give it a month.

So lets see. I started eating healthy on October 20th, just a few days ago. That means I’ve got to eat only things that are within my diet until November 20th. What happens if I don’t? Then I’ll lose faith in myself. I won’t be able to trust myself anymore. And I hate feeling that way.

In addition, I want to commit to going swimming at least once a week for a month. So I started today. I need to keep swimming at least once (hopefully twice) per week until November 24th.

Those of you who know me well know I wouldn’t miss NaNoWriMo for the world. It happens starting November first, and goes until the end of the month. I wrote my last novel in a month, and am planning to write another this one. 50,000 words is my commitment. And I would definitely like to keep myself accountable to this one.

Alright everybody? Now you know what my goals are. You have to keep me to them.

Let’s recap:

Eat well and on my diet until November 20th.
Go swimming at least once per week until November 24th.
Write 50,000 words for NaNoWriMo for the month of November.
