Ahhh I've been eyeing the silk liner and luxurylite cot ever since I saw it on lifenomadic. I think it's time to take the plunge and buy it.

Hostels don't like sleeping bags because they claim they cause bed-bugs. It could have to do with getting out of the linens fees, but mostly they have a point. Alot of sleeping bags are quite mangy.

So why do hostels not like sleeping bags? I don't understand? Is it so you wont skip out on some sort of "sheets fee"?

They will sell you a room on the condition that you leave your sleeping bag in the "pack room" downstairs.

Because my sleeping bag was so small, they didn't notice it. I felt like a fugitive while staying there though.

I am wearing the Vibram slippers right now. I have flat feet and a very sensitive bad knee, so I don't know that I would last more than a few days if I was walking around city streets with them. If I didn't have my injuries, I suppose they could work as "all the time" shoes. They really lack the ruggedness and support I look for in a "full time" shoe.

Hostels wont let you in with a sleeping bag. That means that with the very existence of a sleeping bag in your backpack would make them not sell you a room??

Also how are you finding the vibram slippers? Would you use them to replace your shoe or are they just fancy flip flops for you??
